One Square Mile: Texas is the most recent production of Brazos Film & Video. The trailer below is for the One Square Mile: America series produced by Brazos Film & Video. This series has been nominated for nine Emmy© awards and awarded three - including Outstanding Achievement in Documentary in 2010 and 2011. This series explored nine square miles across the United States.
One Square Mile: America was filmed in nine square miles across the United States. The filmmakers interviewed over 150 individuals living in these square miles, asking what life in their square mile means to them. Locations included: Barrow, AK - Wilton Manors, FL - Hanalei, HI - Austin, TX - Fort Worth, TX, Kennard, TX - New York, NY - Smith Center, KS and New Orleans, LA. OSM’s examination of these communities captures what makes them distinct while revealing simultaneously what most of us have in common, such as family ties, struggles with work, goals and dreams for the future.
The filmmakers are currently partnered with the global Women & Girls Lead initiative in creating a series of thirty documentary short films about empowered women across the US. The filmmakers have partnered with numerous PBS stations around the country and the Independent Television Service to produce the series.
